Phallocrypt (Penis Shield) - Purchased from the Mimdimbit Tribe on the Sepik River, Papua New Guinea - Price: $150.00 USD

6 inches wide, 11 inches long, 4 inches deep - Materials: Fiber and feather covered Gord - A phallocrypt (also called a koteka, horim, or penis gourd) is a penis sheath traditionally worn by native male inhabitants of some ethnic groups in Papua New Guinea to cover their genitals. They are normally made from a dried-out gourd. They are held in place by a small loop of fiber attached to the base of the koteka and placed around the scrotum. We collected this item on a trip up PNG's Sepik River in 1997.
